More details about the Valley Food Fight, Season 2: Mount Washington Valley Promotions presents to you: Valley Food Fight Season 2!
- Based loosely on the Food Network TV show Chopped, this version will have 3 fun themes; April 18 - Kids Favorites All Grown Up, June 6 - Food Truck Favorites, September 12 - Comfort Food.
- Here’s how it will work: 8 different Valley Promotions member organizations will be in the running to win $1,000 in prize money for their programs in each of the preliminary rounds. They will choose a chef to represent the organization – professional experience is absolutely not required, just a love of cooking and competitions. The entry fee is $250 per organization/chef, which may be raised through Facebook Fundraising, with additional funds raised going directly to that organization. The organization is also asked to provide one prize to be included in the winner packages – these may be donated by supporters of the organization. Fundraising should start no more than 1 month prior to the round the chef is participating in.
- The competition will take place in 3 preliminary “themed” rounds, when the chefs will receive 3 Mystery Ingredients, donated by The Valley Originals.
- They will prepare a classic TV dinner style meal incorporating these ingredients. Twists on the classics are welcomed.
- The chefs will use their own kitchen and base ingredients, and have just 3 days to prepare their meal for presentation to a panel of local celebrity judges.
- Food will be judged on flavor, creativity, use of the Mystery Ingredients and overall presentation.
- Judging will take place, in person, at Sweet Maple Café, in Conway, on Tuesday afternoons, April 18, June 6, or September 12 at 4:00pm.
- The Mystery Ingredients will be unveiled, by the chefs, on the Friday prior to their round.
- The top 2 finishers in each of these preliminary contests will move on to the Championship round on October 24, still representing their original organization.
- Updates will be posted on the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/750565943332835/?r...
