This year, we’re focusing on H.O.M.E.
We care — along with our regional partner agencies and nonprofits — for everyone who may be experiencing homelessness.
The causes and complications vary. We work with people fleeing domestic violence, some struggling with mental health, at-risk seniors, folks in recovery, high school students with no fixed address as they exit dangerous home scenes, working people in medical crisis, retirees subsisting on the edge, veterans with long-term challenges, families with children living in cars and camps while they try to make ends meet, and capable individuals working more than one job who cannot find an affordable place to rent.
Way Station’s main mission is to pay attention to and work with neighbors experiencing housing crises, and to address their unique challenges. We wish we could offer places to stay, but that’s a need for which we have no long-term response (yet).
